Yves Meersschaert is a Belgian self-taught composer and arranger. From an early age, he forged his own artistic path, developing a distinctive personal musical language.
His work is characterized by rich contrasts, where lyrical melodies, rhythmic tension, and expressive harmonies merge into cohesive musical statements.
Yves composes for orchestra, brass bands, fanfares, film, and theatre, as well as for his own independent projects. He founded the 25-piece chamber orchestra ROOM13ORCHESTRA, for which he has written works that have been performed live and recorded.
He has collaborated with a wide range of artists and ensembles, including Lieven Tavernier and Stijn Meuris, and his music has been presented on national and international stages.
Currently, Yves is working on large-scale symphonic projects. His first symphony, written for chamber orchestra with soprano, is scheduled for recording in 2026.
