Symphony 2026 – Chamber Orchestra & Soprano
This symphonic work is written for a 32-piece chamber orchestra with soprano and forms the core of his current compositional focus.
The composition is inspired by a personal childhood experience with sleep paralysis. Rather than a literal narrative, the music explores states of immobility, fear, tension and transformation through sound. Musical material evolves in waves, combining stillness with sudden ruptures and expressive harmonic shifts.
Stylistically, the work is rooted in contemporary classical orchestral writing, while drawing influences from film music and the traditions of brass bands and fanfare orchestras. These elements coexist within a clearly structured symphonic form.
A studio recording of the symphony is scheduled for 2026. Yves is currently open to commissions, publishing interest, and recording collaborations.
